Art and Words

“The waves were high and turquoise, heaving towards the shore and breaking white against the rocks on both sides of the small cove. The sound of the crashing waves reverberated off the cliffs like a chorus and the roar of the wind added the verse. The air was so thick with salt it could almost heal your wounds.”-Butterscotch Palace from Through the Elephant Ears

My art and my stories come from the same place, memory and imagination. The ocean is the focal point and hope the destination. As we go through life accomplishing goals, having set backs, rethinking our choices and having regrets, hope still burns within most of us. Hope for a better future, hope that we can stop simply surviving and start living, hope that we can reach that perfect place where we can finally stop and listen to what matters most.
